Defaults are an invented arithmetic example, including the tariff. Replace them with your own information.

Power in two states

Electrical input, not heating/cooling output.

Changing unit converts the same power.

For every hour outside the active state. Enter 0 if fully off.

Same power and schedule for each.

A repeating seven-day schedule

100% means all scheduled time. A lower value is your assumption.

Prorated weekly average, not a calendar count.

Your electricity usage rate

Use your applicable rate, with your chosen tax basis.

100 cents or pence = 1 currency unit.

Changes the label only; no exchange conversion.

01 · INPUT

Use electrical input power

Watts describe a rate of use. A rating, a measured average and a heating output are different things. Choose values that fit this model.

02 · SCHEDULE

Account for the whole week

The active share sets active hours. Every other hour uses the remaining-time power you enter, including unused days.

03 · INTERPRET

Keep the rate assumptions

The tool has one usage tariff. Fixed charges, demand charges and time-of-use periods need other information. Read the worked method.
